Safety Switches...not the most exciting topic for a Sunday… but it could save your life.Safety switches are designed to cut power instantly during an electrical fault — but only if they’re working properly. That’s why they should be tested EVERY 3 MONTHS!Before testing, notify everyone in the household so they are aware that power will briefly be interrupted. How to test:1. Locate switches with a “T” or test button on your switchboard 2. Press the test button — you should hear a “clunk” and power will switch off 3. Reset the switch and wait 2–3 minutes before restarting appliances Just a heads-up — not all safety switches look the same - the graphic shows a few common safety switches. If nothing happens when you test your switch, it may be faulty and should be inspected by a licensed electrician ASAP. Leenderts Electrical can help keep your switchboard safe, compliant, and doing its job when it matters most. #Safetyswitches #safetyswitchessavelives #HomeSafety #leendertselectrical #SwitchboardSafety ... We pride ourselves on installing quality smoke alarms with options of alarms being backed with a full 10 year warranty. It was a lucky escape early this morning for a family who woke to discover a fire burning in their garage.Firefighters from the #RFS and FRNSW arrived quickly, with crews from Galston and Arcadia extinguishing the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electric vehicle charger. While there were no smoke alarms in the garage, a working smoke alarm in the hallway activated, allowing the family time to safely evacuate and giving firefighters a chance to extinguish the fire before it spread further into the home.Remember it's important you have multiple smoke alarms installed throughout your home, particularly in areas where combustible materials may be present.📸 Mike Elvidge ...
