Before installing security cameras we suggest you have an onsite visit with your security camera installer to ensure you are both aware of your requirements and the systems available. Other things to consider is what you require, remote monitoring, phone and app notifications, local monitoring etc.

Typically a standard security camera system with four cameras in a single storey home with adequate ceiling access will take approximately four (4) hours.

There are several safety aspects to an electrical installation that your licensed electrical should point out should you have issues within your home or business such as:

• The brand of the security camera system
• The number of security cameras to be installed
• The image quality including megapixels and quality of night vision
• Building materials such as internal and external for cable installation
• Single or double storey home
• Ease of access for cabling installation from the Network Video Recorder to the security cameras and the internet connection point.

• Try not to choose a chandelier that requires a long drop from the ceiling that will be installed on a low ceiling
• Avoid choosing a small chandelier to be installed in a large void area
• Ensuring consideration on the installation location as most chandeliers in stairwell voids require scaffolding to complete the chandelier installation safely.
• Always check with your licensed electrician if the chandelier installation location is suitable and that the ceiling can support the size and weight of the chandelier.

Most EV Charger installations in apartment buildings will require a site visit based on installation factors and power availability. Typically a standard single phase EV charger installation starts from $950 inc GST in a location adjacent to the switchboard.

Depending on the style or pendant light and your personal preference we suggest installing a pendant light between 70 centimetres to 1 metre above a kitchen bench. Typically you will want to ensure the pendant light installation has a functional use over the bench without blocking any interaction or conversation with others on the other side of the island bench.

Professionally installed security cameras generally have little maintenance. The key thing to do is view your camera feeds from time to time to ensure the images are clear as occasionally the security camera lens/housing gets covered in spider webs and require some cleaning. Also check that your system is still recording by doing a playback on the recordings. These two checks are important as you do not want to find out your system is not recording or the image is not clear in the event something happens. As with most things technology changes and improves so speak with your licensed security camera installer about your current system and if it still meets your requirements.

Smoke alarms have a maximum lifespan of 10 years from the manufacture date printed on the unit. After 10 years the sensor degrades and the alarm must be replaced regardless of whether it appears to work. Under NSW law, all dwellings must have working smoke alarms. Yes. Under NSW law, any licensed electrician who carries out electrical work must issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW). This certificate is your legal proof that the work was completed by a licensed electrician and meets Australian Standards. Leenderts Electrical issues a CCEW for every job. If a tradesperson is unwilling to provide one, do not engage them — they may not be licensed.
